TOPIC 4: SEARCH ENGINES

There a are a lot of search engines we can use for searching any information you want. a web search engine is a software system that is designed to search for information on the World Wide Web. Popular examples of search engines are Google, Yahoo!, and MSN Search. For my opinion, Google is the most popular search engine in today's world. Everyone are mostly like Google because they are able to find almost any information they want with efficiency that would have been unimaged a generation ago. When i needs to look up information on a subject, i will prefers the search engine Google over Yahoo because it gives more responses.

Search engines utilize automated software applications, it referred to as robots, bots or spiders that travel along the Web, following links from page to page, site to site. The information gathered by the spider is used to create a searchable index of the Web.

There are 2 types of search engines which are Specialized search engines and Meta search engines. The function of specialized search engines is to search for a specific area like Google scholar, Education world, Art cyclopedia, and Pipl.com while Meta search engines is a search engines that matches the user's query to multiples search engines such as MetaCrawler, SavvySearch and Dogpile.
